My Story
The Forests of Lithuania served as a playground for me growing up. Those memories radiate within the enchanting elements incorporated into my art. I was so fortunate to have grown in a family that fostered my curiosity and unlocked my imagination. When I was young I began taking photos with my mother, an accomplished journalist, and never put the camera down.
My name is Ivette Ivens, born Iveta (“ee-vet-ah”).
When I arrived to the United States, I changed my name to Ivette because it was easier for clients to pronounce. Today, I am in the process of sharing my story and readopting my birth name. Eventually, it is my hope to rebrand and reestablish my birth name into my business.
The infancy of my career quite literally began with newborns. Newborn photography required a precise combination of timing, creation of safe & comfortable spaces, and respect for the opportunity to capture such a sacred time.
From there, an emphasis on maternal bonds came to me with ease. There is a level of intimacy created with each project that inspires me both personally and professionally. As I grow and learn, my creations reflect this.
Movement and creation must be two of my favorite forces. There is so much to explore in this life, as well as leaving your own footprint, for others to discover.
I live in Hawai’i with my two boys, Kevin and Dilan. My boys are my constant reminders of the joy, beauty, and magic in life - Much of my creative inspiration comes from them, and the beautiful island of Maui.
